Ubisoft Forward September 2020 round-up

Ubisoft Forward September 2020 | All the trailers, release dates, and gameplay you may have missed

Today’s Ubisoft Forward had many reveals, though none of them matched those from the July stream. Most of the news we got was follow-ups to larger reveals and info about minor titles. However, there were some juicy tidbits in there for Ubisoft fans.

Our Ubisoft Forward September 2020 round-up gathers the reveals, trailers, and news you might have missed if you didn’t see the stream.

More songs revealed for Just Dance 2021

Welp, if you’re into Just Dance, more of the songs that’ll be included this year were revealed. That’s cool, right?

The Crew 2 shows its year three roadmap

Remember The Crew 2? Well, Ubisoft does, and it unveiled its plans for the game’s third year. The content release schedule will move to a season-based model with two “episode” drops per season. It seems like a weird move, but maybe it’ll revitalize the game.

Roller Champions still exists

Ubisoft gave a brief update on Roller Champions, a free-to-play sports game that we haven’t seen since E3 2019. The game is still being worked on and is scheduled to release in early 2021. More details are coming next month.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is getting a new expansion called Red Patriot

So, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is still in active development. Maybe Red Patriot, releasing alongside title update 3.0.0, will turn the tides for the game. This paid DLC (which is free for Year 1 pass owners) brings back Raven’s Rock as an adversary and features ten new missions.

For Honor is still going with Year 4, Seasons 3: Resistance

Ubisoft is the master of necromancy. As such, it’ll be releasing yet another season of For Honor. A story trailer was shown at today’s Ubisoft Forward, but your guess is as good as mine as to what’s going on in the game at this point.

The Division 2 is adding a big ol’ skyscraper full of endgame loot

Ubisoft is adding a 100-floor skyscraper to The Division 2 for endgame players to raid. The Summit will increase in difficulty each level you climb and should be a great challenge for people who have conquered everything else the game has to offer. On a side note, Ubisoft, Squaresoft circa 1998 called, and they want their Chrysler Building back.

We got a first look at Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Gods and Monsters was MIA for a while, but Ubisoft finally revealed more about the game. The biggest change since the last time we saw it is the name of the game itself; it’s now titled Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

You can see more details about the game in our hands-on preview.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake remake announced

We’re finally getting into some remake meta territory now. During Ubisoft Forward, the rumored remake of the 2003 remake of 1989’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was revealed. Unfortunately, in the alpha footage shown, the character models have an early PS3 vibe, which will hopefully be fixed when it releases on January 21, 2021.

Hyper Scape is going turbo

Ubisoft’s somewhat popular battle royale, Hyper Scape, is getting a new Turbo Mode soon. This new game type will speed up the experience by providing only max level loot, sped up health regen, and faster crown victory. This might make it the go-to game for people who think games like PUBG, Fortnite, and Apex Legends are too slow.

Rainbow Six Siege players will get a free next-gen upgrade

New consoles are on the horizon, and no one really has their game upgrade scheme figured out. Some are giving free copies of PS5 and Xbox Series X games if you own them on PS4 or Xbox One. Others are charging a premium for the privilege of playing their games on the latest consoles. Fortunately, Ubisoft is one of the cool studios, at least with Rainbow Six Siege, and is providing the next-gen upgrade free-of-charge.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is coming back on the market

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, but became unavailable for purchase in 2014. It received 6.5-8 scores when it first came out, but it’s apparently become everyone’s favorite game since then. Fortunately, if you missed out the first time around, you can grab Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition a remaster including the base game and the two DLC packs released for it, for PC, Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia sometime in Q4 2020.

Ubisoft claims people asked for Aiden Pearce to return, so it’s adding him to Watch Dogs Legion

If you were one of the tens of fans who thought Aiden Pearce is a compelling character, give yourself a little clap. The protagonist of the original Watch Dogs will be added to Watch Dogs Legion as part of a post-launch DLC. Unfortunately, his story will be a self-contained adventure instead of an interesting interweaving with the main plot, as is a tradition in pretty much all DLC content.

Riders Republic will meld XTREME SPORTS with a massively multiplayer framework

Ever wanted to wear zany Corpo-punk masks that poot out multi-colored smoke while you’re riding a BMX bike? No? Well, get with the program and dig the pseudo-anarchist, extreme sports, multiplayer Riders Republic. You can dress like some generic lizard while hundreds of players race down a hill on snowboards, skis, bikes, etc. There are jetpack gliders too.
