Amazon’s brand-new MMORPG, New World, is taking the PC platform by storm right now. Unlike a lot of modern MMO games, however, it isn’t free to play. This immediate barrier to entry has a lot of gamers wondering if they can play via a Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription. So, is New World on Xbox Game Pass for PC? Is it playable on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for XGP subscribers? Here’s the latest on the New World Game Pass status.
Is New World on Xbox Game Pass for PC?
New World is out now on PC. The game is available to purchase on Steam, though, unfortunately, New World isn’t available on Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members aren’t able to download a Windows 10 (Win 10) version of New World from the Microsoft Store. It’s possible that a New World Game Pass launch could happen in the future, however. MMORPGs rely heavily on having an active player base — if this were to dwindle, announcing New World on Xbox Game Pass for PC would provide a big boost.
Is New World on Game Pass for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One?
New World is a PC game that’s purchasable from Steam. Amazon Game Studios’ MMO isn’t coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, which means there’s no New World Game Pass release for consoles.
Unfortunately, Amazon has given confirmation that New World “will only be available on PC” and not Xbox consoles. Since there isn’t a console version of the game, obviously, it can’t and won’t be available with an XGP subscription for Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One.
