Bethesda’s E3 2021 reveals are hard to predict since its showcase is now part of the larger Xbox E3 conference, but there are a few things we’re almost positive to see. The biggest question is whether Bethesda will have part of the Xbox show dedicated to its upcoming titles or whether they’ll be interspersed throughout. Alternatively, each of the ZeniMax studios may be treated as a separate entity by Microsoft. Still, we’ll be grouping our predictions according to their former structure.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: Bethesda Game Studios
Bethesda Game Studios is responsible for some of the most iconic games of all time, and we know that it has two major titles in production. After the Fallout 76 debacle, this E3 might be where the studio redeems itself with a big reveal.
Starfield
One of the most anticipated (and most mysterious) projects in the industry is Starfield. Aside from a tease at E3 2018, Bethesda has been mum about its first new IP in 25 years. Rumors have abounded about Starfield for years and have only increased in intensity and frequency as we inch closer to E3.
We know that Starfield is Bethesda Game Studios’ current project and that The Elder Scrolls VI is still years from completion. So, it’s likely that the big reveal for Bethesda this year will be this title.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: Arkane Studios
Arkane’s big upcoming game is Deathloop, which was originally scheduled to launch alongside the PS5 as a system exclusive. Since then, it’s been delayed to Q2 2021, then to May 21, 2021, and finally to September 14, 2021.
Since Deathloop will be coming out only a few short months after E3, it’s likely we’ll see some extended coverage of the game. Since it’s a one-year PS5 exclusive, it likely won’t be shown at the Xbox conference, but we’ll probably see it pop up somewhere.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: id Software
Since id released Doom Eternal and The Ancient Gods very recently, there likely won’t be anything from id at E3.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: MachineGames
We haven’t heard much from MachineGames since Wolfenstein: Youngblood released to mixed reviews. Given that there’s 20 years of story that could be told between Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Youngblood, it’s likely that we’ll see a Wolfenstein 3 at some point. However, we haven’t heard anything solid about a new entry in the series as of now.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: Tango Gameworks
Tango Gameworks is a wildcard right now. We only know of one project the studio is working on: Ghostwire: Tokyo. However, we may see a surprise announcement from them at E3.
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Tango Gameworks’ second IP is about to release in October 2021, and is another one-year Sony exclusive. That means we likely won’t see it during the Xbox conference, but with the launch so soon, there’s likely to be at least some extended coverage.
The Evil Within 3
The second game in The Evil Within series left room for a sequel, and we’d be surprised if we didn’t hear about a new title soon. There haven’t been any rumors or leaks spotted, but it’s been almost four years since the last game was released, meaning that if development started on The Evil Within 3 shortly afterward, the team should have plenty to show the public by now.
Bethesda E3 2021 Predictions: ZeniMax Online Studios
It’s possible that we may see a teaser for new Elder Scrolls Online content at E3, but we also know that ZeniMax Online Studios is working on an original IP. Whether this will be an MMO or a game in a different genre isn’t known, but it may make its first appearance soon.
