While details for Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer are still very much thin on the ground, there is still plenty to talk and speculate about. That being said, all of the trailers and materials released so far have only touched upon the single-player campaign. Where is the RDR 2 multiplayer? And will it even have a local co-op component to go along with that rumoured battle royale mode?
Will Red Dead Redemption 2 Have Multiplayer: Online Modes
Nothing has been confirmed as of writing but, with the incredible popularity of GTA Online, you should expect something very similar when heading for another go-around in the Wild West. The original Red Dead Redemption, and its various expansions, introduced the likes of horse racing and straight-up gambling into the mix.
Expect them to be mainstays upon release, along with the possibility of Dutch’s gang bleeding into multiplayer with some sort of clan/squad element.
Will Red Dead Redemption 2 Have Multiplayer: Co-Op or Split Screen
Judging by previous patterns laid out by Rockstar Games, it is unlikely that Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature split-screen, especially as local multiplayer is being increasingly phased out by AAA titles.
However, in the wake of the successes of the likes of Fortnite and A Way Out, it’s a real certainty that Red Dead Redemption 2 will include co-op, be it within the main campaign itself or, much like Grand Theft Auto V, having a separate OC make up their own gang.
Will Red Dead Redemption 2 Have Multiplayer: Battle Royale
It feels like every game these days has talk surrounding it about a battle royale. Red Dead Redemption 2 is no different. Rumors of a battle royale mode being attached to the game have been around for some time and, with PUBG and Fortnite making mincemeat out of its competition, it’ll be remiss of Rockstar not to at least think about including it down the line; when Rockstar does something, it does it like nobody else. Be very scared, Fortnite. Be very scared indeed.
