Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee features plenty of version exclusives, and the Pokemon Let’s Go Partner Powers are just one aspect of it. Below, we take a look at exactly what the Partner Powers in Pokemon Let’s Go are, what they do, and how to use them. As the game has yet to launch, this may well be an incomplete list. If so, we’ll update the article accordingly.
Pokemon Let’s Go Partner Powers – What are Partner Powers?
Not to be confused with Secret Techniques, Partner Powers are also version exclusive features in Pokemon Let’s Go. While Secret Techniques affect gameplay outside of battle and seemingly take the place of HMs (you’ll surf with Pikachu on a surfboard, for example), Partner Powers are exclusive attacks and status boosts for your Partner Pokemon of choice. Your Partner Pokemon will be either Pikachu or Eevee. What one you are given depends on what version of the game you pick up, naturally.
Along with riding on your shoulder, you can pet, feed, and tickle your Partner Pokemon. Doing this on a regular basis will build your relationship with your Partner Pokemon. Once this reaches a high enough level, Pikachu or Eevee will learn exclusive Partner Powers.
Pokemon Let’s Go Partner Powers – Pikachu
As of writing, Pikachu only has two Partner Powers. Eevee, meanwhile, has four. As stated above, we’ll update this list if more Partner Powers for Pikachu or Eevee are discovered. We’ll also update this list to explain fully what each Partner Power does in detail, as some of the information is as yet unknown.
Pikachu’s full list of Partner Powers is as follows:
- Pika Papow: An attack (unknown if physical or special, or exactly how strong it is). The attack power of Pika Papow increases based on the level of bond between the trainer and Pikachu. While we don’t know for certain what type Pika Papow is, it’s presumably Electric, if the image above is anything to go on.
- Splishy Splash: A Water-type Status Effect attack. Splishy Splash simply paralyzes opponents. This is the bleedin’ splish splosh show.
Pokemon Let’s Go Partner Powers – Eevee
While Eevee is known to have four Partner Powers, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if either Eevee or Pikachu has more in-game. Again, we’ll make sure to update this list if more Partner Powers are discovered. As with Pikachu’s Partner Powers, we’ll update this post with all the relevant information as soon as we know it.
Eevee’s full list of Partner Powers is as follows:
- Bouncy Bubble: An attack (unknown if physical or special, or exactly how strong it is). Bouncy Bubble will heal Eevee by half of the damage it gives to its opponent. Unfortunately, we don’t know what type Bouncy Bubble is, but we can presume Normal as that is Eevee’s type.
- Buzzy Buzz: An electric type Status Effect attack. Buzzy Buzz will paralyze opponents.
- Sizzly Slide: An attack (unknown if physical or special, or exactly how strong it is). If the move lands, it will deal damage and burn opponents. While the type hasn’t been officially confirmed, we can safely say that Sizzly Slide is a Fire-type attack based on its name and ability to burn.
- Veevee Volley: An attack (unknown if physical or special, or exactly how strong it is). Just as with Pikachu’s Pika Popow, Veevee Volley grows stronger the higher your bond is with Eevee. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed what type it is, we’d presume that it is either Electric-type (based on its name), or Fire-type, based on the artwork above.
Pokemon Let’s Go Partner Powers – How to Use
During battles, your Partner Pokemon will give you a sign that it is ready to use a Partner Power. Whether or not it is actively in battle, a flick of the Joy-Con will unleash the Power. If your Pikachu or Eevee is outside of battle, it will apply a stats boost to your active Pokemon. If it is active in battle, it will make use of one of its Partner Power attacks, presumably, we’ll be given the choice upon flicking the Joy-Con. Unfortunately, it seems as though we won’t be able to use the Switch’s Pro Controller to do this.
