The Pokemon Let’s Go Aerodactyl encounter will likely be familiar for longtime Pokemon fans, as it isn’t too different from the way in which players caught Aerodactyl in the original Gen 1 Pokemon games. However, for those who are new to Pokemon or can no longer remember the ins and outs of Gen 1, figuring out where to find Aerodactyl can be tough. It’s a well-kept secret that only the biggest fans of Pokemon will remember, but it’s quite easy to pull off once you know what you’re doing—or where you’re going, I should say. Here’s everything you need to know about catching Aerodactyl in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.
Pokemon Let’s Go Aerodactyl – How to Get It
To trigger the Pokemon Let’s Go Aerodactyl questline, players will need to return to Pewter City long after having defeated Brock. You can start the quest once you get the Secret Techniques known as Chop Down and Sky Dash, which resemble Cut and Fly from previous Pokemon games.
When you return to Pewter City, you’ll need to go to the northeast corner of the town. Behind a house, you’ll see a tree that can be chopped down. This opens a new path into the museum in Pewter City, allowing you to access it from the back entrance.
A scientist inside will be standing next to a fossil in a case. When you talk to him, he’ll present you with the Old Amber, which is actually an Aerodactyl fossil. In order to bring Aerodactyl back to life, all you need to do is visit the Pokemon Lab, which is the most southwesterly building on Cinnabar Island, where the seventh Gym is located.
Go inside and go through the last door on the right. There will be a scientist in the top right corner of the room standing next to a fancy machine. He’ll take the Old Amber off your hands and present you with your brand new Aerodactyl.
