Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is out this week, and it boasts a massive cast of characters, both playable and non-playable, and it’s growing all the time. The roster includes all your favorite heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, and Black Panther, but it also includes some notably more obscure characters, such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Elsa Bloodstone. Given the seemingly limited space for characters, who is this Marvel hero, and why are they important enough to be included?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Elsa Bloodstone | Who is she?
Elsa Bloodstone is one of the newer Marvel creations to appear in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Elsa first appeared in 2001 in the miniseries Bloodstone created by popular comics and Warhammer writer Dan Abnett and artist Andy Lanning. She hunts vampires and other monsters with the aid of her Frankenstein Monster friend Adam and Dracula. She has connections to both Civil War comics events, and affiliations with the groups the Thunderbolts (which also includes Ghost Rider, who appears in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 as well) and female superhero team the Fearless Defenders.
You can see Elsa Bloodstone in action alongside her one-time teammate Ghost Rider in the E3 trailer below. She’s extremely focused on long-range gunplay and carries two rifles and two handguns, although she can use both as melee weapons too.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Elsa Bloodstone | Why is she important?
As the game isn’t out as we write this, we currently do not know whether Elsa Bloodstone has any connection to the plot of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, the titular Black Order, Thanos, or the Infinity Stones. We’ll see, but it’s entirely possible that she’s simply a cool character who developer Team Ninja wanted to include in the game. In that case, she’s important because she’s a less well-known figure in Marvel Comics, she’s an awesome monster hunter who works well in videogames, and she’s yet another amazing female superhero for fans to cosplay as at Comic-Con.
