With the new Call of Duty game just around the corner, a lot of players are wondering if Modern Warfare will see the return of a Battle Royale Mode. An initial leak stated that there would not be a Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, however, it now seems that the leaker might have spoken a bit too soon. So, does this mean that there could be a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale Mode? Let’s take a look
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale | Is Blackout going to be in Modern Warfare?
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Joel Emslie, the Art Director for Modern Warfare, went through a series of rapid-fire questions. When asked by Game Informer if Modern Warfare would have a Battle Royale Mode, Emslie replied, “We’ll have to wait and see.” Now don’t get me wrong, this is by no means confirming a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode, but it isn’t putting it out of the realm of possibility.

The first-ever Call of Duty Battle Royale mode was a big selling point for Black Ops 4. Since the game didn’t have a campaign, developers were banking on Blackout, the Battle Royale Mode, being a success. It turned out to be quite successful, with a lot of players still enjoying Blackout to this day. With its success and popularity, it seems hard to believe that the game mode, or some version of it, won’t appear in Modern Warfare, at least for a limited time.
However, no one will really know until the game releases in October. There are already a handful of game modes confirmed for Modern Warfare, so it’ll remain to be seen if a Battle Royale Mode will make the cut or not.
