FIFA 20 1.16 Update Patch Notes

At long last, the Copa Libertadores is fully-licensed in FIFA 20. This means that you can now play through the famous South American club tournament with licensed teams, within licensed stadiums, and with newly licensed players. Time to lead the likes of Boca Juniors, Flamengo, and Millonarios to glory. It’s a big update, thanks to everything it’s adding. It weighs in at around 4.8 GB on PS4 and 5.5 GB on Xbox One.

New Licenses

A whole host of newly licensed teams have been added into the game, including Boca Juniors and River Plate. Teams such as these will have be fully-licensed with player head scans, realistic kits, and imagery. This will be in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Tournament and Kick-Off modes, however. In Career Mode, these teams will still have generic names and crests, with authentic players.

All of the Brazilian League teams have been updated, too. These now all have authentic kits and crests in all modes (no Brazilian league players in Ultimate Team, unfortunately). Player names and likenesses are all still generic from the Brazilian league, however.

The COMNEBOL Libertadores, Sudamericana, and Recopa are all being added to the game, including in Career Mode and Kick-Off matches. It should all look authentic enough, despite the few generic kits and crests present in Career Mode, as mentioned above. What’s more, aside from the Brazilian League, over 500 CONMEBOL players have been added to Ultimate Team. Special edition players will be available for a select few who perform well in the real-life tournaments.

New Player Head Scans

In total, 76 players have had Player Head Scans taken throughout football clubs in South America. This means that they should look a lot more realistic than they did before. These new player faces will be implemented into all modes, aside from any continuing Career Mode from before today’s update.
