The number of acts and chapters can vary, meaning it’s difficult to predict just how close you are to finishing the current act. There are three acts in Gears Tactics. However, each act varies in length. For example, Act 3 will take longer to complete than Act 1.
As for chapters, there are 22 in total. Each chapter is made up of a main mission, as well as side missions. While side missions can be avoided, the main missions must be played in order to progress.
While Gears 5 had four acts, Gears Tactics only has three. However, Tactics’ acts are much longer, with the game itself taking a good 25-30 hours to complete on the Normal difficulty.
Gears Tactics takes more time in developing the story within an Act, while Gears 5 had characters zooming around from mission to mission. Expect slower overall pacing in Tactics, to match the strategy genre that it fits itself into.
