Thanks to a Steam Q & A, it has been confirmed that respec is on the way to Baldur’s Gate 3. What is unclear is what form respec will take in the game. The development team is “still trying out different ways of introducing respec,” asking for “patience.”
It is currently unknown, too, when respeccing will be added to Baldur’s Gate 3, with the development team “still working out what the best way [to respec] will be.” It could potentially be used when a player has maxed out the level cap, as one idea, or to make the transition from Early Access to full release less punishing for veteran players.
Hopefully, Baldur’s Gate 3 respec will be added to the game sooner rather than later. Time will tell whether it will have a one-time use or available throughout the game. Thankfully, though, it is on the way at some point. For now, though, the game is still in early access (with a list of available content expanding all the time) and is suffering from slow Steam install times.
