Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 2 DLC release date

The Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 2 DLC release date is probably on the front of the minds of the people who just complete the recently launched and well-received first episode. It’s quite a cliffhanger, after all. But when is The Ancient Gods 2 coming out?

When is the Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 2 DLC release date?

Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 2 DLC release date

According to a now-deleted post on the Microsoft Store that was later confirmed by the latest official trailer, the Ancient Gods Part 2 release date is March 18, 2021, which is almost exactly a year from the base game’s launch. This day was also announced in early March, leading to a quick turnaround time from announcement to release. However, it isn’t clear if TAG Part 2 is coming to Switch on the same date as the first episode still hasn’t come to the portable platform. This expansion will come with new changes like a minimized HUD and better weapon quick switching. Id also confirmed that it is still working on new content like new modes, Master Levels, and content for later in 2021.

This also might be timed around the eventual PS5 and Xbox Series X versions that id confirmed back in August. It’s possible that there might be some sort of gold edition that combined everything in the game so far and matching that with a next-gen release would make sense. Mortal Kombat 11 is doing something similar in November with Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. Not only is the fighting game coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X, but it is also coming with three new characters, essentially acting as a Game of the Year edition, DLC drop, and a next-gen port with all the enhancements that come with such a jump.

However, the Doom Eternal PS5 and Xbox Series X versions don’t have a release date either, throwing even more mystery to the eventual Ancient Gods Part 2. Whatever the date is, id probably won’t start talking about it for at least a few weeks or month as the team works on it upon releasing the first episode. Stay tuned and we will update this page when the official word comes out of the newly Microsoft-owned developer.
