The Resident Evil Village Maiden demo necklace has been stumping many people who have been playing this surprise pre-release chapter of the game. It’s just sitting out in the open on a table that’s quite easy to see so it seems like Capcom wants people to find it before they make their way to the end. So what does the RE Village Maiden demo necklace do and what can it be used on?
What does the Resident Evil Village Maiden demo necklace do?
It is not entirely clear what the Resident Evil Village Maiden demo necklace does. While the description says that it “wards away evil,” it doesn’t seem to actually affect any of the characters in the demo. One of the daughters still damages the player with or without it and doesn’t seem to act differently. Lady Dimitrescu also still grabs the player at the end.
While there may be a secret meaning players have not discovered yet that’s in the game right now, it is entirely possible that it is like the dummy finger from the Resident Evil 7 demo. This continually updated demo for RE7 included a finger from a dummy that did nothing. Players went mad trying to figure out what it was meant for, especially as Capcom further teasing it shortly after the demo’s release.
But eventually after some patches that added new material, players were finally able to find a use for the dummy finger. It involved a long string of incredibly obtuse steps that opened up new secrets and endings and even unlocked an Antique Coin in the full game (a currency used for buying items). Capcom already said there would be another demo for Resident Evil Village so it is likely that this necklace saga will continue in that next teaser (or possible through an update to this one).
Where to use the necklace in the Resident Evil Village Maiden demo
Figuring out where to use the necklace will also probably come in good time as its use still hasn’t been figured out yet. It’s possible that it has to be combined with something else, but that something is still a mystery.
