Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life introduces players to Jack Sparrow and five all-new Tall Tales centering around Pirates of the Caribbean. It also brings some bugs and glitches to the Captain’s Table, however. The fourth new mission in the SoT x PotC content is “Dark Brethren,” which contains an issue preventing further progress. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix for players that encounter the Sea of Thieves Dark Brethren door won’t open bug.
Sea of Thieves Dark Brethren door won’t open glitch fix
To fix the Dark Brethren door won’t open glitch in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, players must quit the game and then resume the Tall Tale.
As the murals on the wall indicate, players must hit the siren statues flanking the locked door to raise their tridents into the air. After correctly positioning the arms, pirates need to locate and hit the statue holding a horn to sound it and open the door. Problem is, the Dark Brethren horn statue won’t spawn for some Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life players.
As if to compound the issue, a previous horn siren statue is visible below — some walkthroughs even suggest that this is the correct one. In reality, shooting that statue will not open the door. Players need to hit the statue that’s back over the fallen mast, which serves as a makeshift bridge. If the statue carrying a horn isn’t there, unfortunately, the only option is to quit the game and try again.
This Dark Brethren statue spawn bug isn’t the only thing stopping players from progressing in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life. The Sunken Pearl quest also has an impassible door problem, assuming that users even get that far. Getting there requires Jack Sparrow’s compass, though, for some people, it doesn’t work.
Whether playing the new update or engaging with other Sea of Thieves content, it’s worth checking out how to improve in-game stutter.
