Does The Suicide Squad ending tease Suicide Squad 3?

The Suicide Squad ending

The ending of The Suicide Squad sets up a few important things that need to be resolved, which could happen in a possible Suicide Squad 3, although the only actual project that is specifically teased is the Peacemaker HBO Max series in the movie’s post-credits scene. In the ending, the remaining members of the Suicide Squad are freed, providing they keep their mouths shut about Project Starfish and the US government’s role in it — which is the whole reason for the mission in the first place.

However, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) is still alive, in charge, and is seemingly ready for some revenge, which will potentially play a part in Suicide Squad 3 — if it happens. With all the current members of Task Force X either deceased or part of the escape, a new Squad could potentially go after the likes of Harley Quinn and Bloodsport, perhaps lead by either the shockingly still alive Peacemaker (John Cena) or even the previous Suicide Squad movie’s Deadshot (Will Smith). Then there’s Weasel (Sean Gunn), of course, who was initially the movie’s first casualty but the end of the movie reveals is actually still alive, who may have some part still left to play.
