The Suicide Squad Taiki Waititi

Who is Taiki Waititi in The Suicide Squad?

What is The Suicide Squad Taiki Waititi cameo? Who is Thor: Ragnarok’s Taiki Waititi playing in Suicide Squad 2? Ever since the movie’s first teaser trailer at DC Fandome last year, fans have been curious which Suicide Squad character Taiki Waititi is playing, since he was one of the few big names in the cast not to have a character attached. So who is Taiki Waititi playing in The Suicide Squad, and are they a major villain?

The Suicide Squad Taiki Waititi: Which character is he playing?

The Suicide Squad Taiki Waititi

The character Taiki Waititi is playing in The Suicide Squad is the first Ratcatcher (Otis Flannegan in the comics), father of the major Suicide Squad member Cleo Cazo/Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior). While Ratcatcher 1 only appears in a few flashback scenes most of them have him in full costume wearing his mask, and he only reveals himself as Waititi in one of the movie’s final scenes.

Ratcatcher taught his daughter everything she knows, including how to manipulate rats, although he died of a drug overdose when she was young. There were many theories about who the popular actor/director Taiki Waititi would be playing since he was mysteriously announced for The Suicide Squad, with most focused on him being the voice of either King Shark or Starro the Conqueror — Shark is played by Sylvester Stallone and Starro doesn’t have an individual voice, so neither would have made sense, but Ratcatcher 2’s father works very well in the context of the movie.
