Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is launching next month for $60. Although that price covers three sizable classics, many are hoping they’re able to buy games standalone from the remaster collection. Can you buy GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas remastered on their own, though? Here’s the lowdown on separately purchasing the Grand Theft Auto remasters individually.
Are the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Editions available to buy standalone?
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remastered is available individually via Xbox Game Pass, while the GTA 3 remaster is a standalone game on PlayStation Now. Anyone looking to purchase GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition digitally or physically must do so as a complete package containing the Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas remasters.
People that want to own the games and/or play GTA: Vice City remastered must purchase the full GTA Trilogy collection. Any players only looking to revisit GTA 3 or San Andreas are in luck, as they can do so via subbing to PS Now or Game Pass respectively. Other than purchasing a subscription service, however, it isn’t possible to buy games standalone.
In addition to finally sharing the GTA Trilogy release date and pricing information, Rockstar Games also announced the minimum PC specs. It’s nothing too intense, which isn’t surprising considering the age of the originals; this is a remaster, after all, not a full-on remake, so there’s no call for the latest hardware.
All three GTA remasters do feature modern amenities like improvements to lighting, environments, and character models. That’s in addition to individual Achievement and Trophy lists, which have already leaked well ahead of launch. Players can already start optimizing their playthroughs in advance of the digital release on November 11, 2021. Physical versions for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch will follow on December 7, 2021.
In other news, Walmart could be hoarding thousands of PS5 consoles. MCU fans need to be careful on social media, as Eternal spoilers are already circulating online.
