Fans are wondering if Apex Legends Mobile features cross-progression across platforms. Given the investment you have to make to unlock skins and cosmetics, one would hope you can sync your EA account so that progression transfers to the console and PC versions of the game. We’ll investigate how cross-play and cross-progression work in Apex Legends Mobile below.
Can you sync your EA account in Apex Legends Mobile for cross-progression?
Apex Legends Mobile features cross-play between Android and iOS but doesn’t interact with the console and PC versions of the game in any way. Additionally, no version of the game (whether mobile or otherwise) supports cross-progression.
So, you can’t start playing on iOS and pick up where you left off on Android or transfer any progress from mobile to console or PC. You can play the mobile version on PC (through an emulator), but it’s still just the Android APK.
The game might get cross-progression in the future. However, the former Director of Comms Respawn Entertainment shared in a Reddit post that the studio was having difficulty implementing it:
“Cross progression is gnarly as hell in terms of being a problem to solve. It’s not only that you have to solve the technical challenge of merging existing accounts, but there are also legal and contractual issues to navigate with purchasing on other platforms. Different regions have different laws. It’s a mess. But we’re working on it, and we’re committed to delivering it.”
The devs were targeting the feature for some time this year, but so far, it hasn’t been released. Other titles have managed to pull it off, so it’s likely just a matter of time before it’s released. However, even then, Apex Legends Mobile will probably be excluded since it’s handled by an entirely different studio than the PC and console versions are.
