Fans are wondering when the big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) multiplayer gameplay trailer will drop. We just got a campaign reveal, but the meat and potatoes Call of Duty is multiplayer, so we’re all eager to see what’s in store for us. We’ll take a look at past games and hypothesize when a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal may take place below.
When will the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal trailer release?

The release date for the Modern Warfare 2 (2022) multiplayer gameplay trailer will likely fall in late July or August. Modern Warfare (2019) launched around the same time that its sequel will, and its multiplayer reveal dropped on August 1, 2019. So, we can assume the run-up to launch for Modern Warfare 2 will be fairly similar.
One thing that might throw the wrench in the above assumption is that Activision doesn’t plan to release a main series Call of Duty title in 2023. Since the devs will potentially support the multiplayer for two years, the company might want to really knock it out of the park with the multiplayer gameplay reveal. It seems like a lot of Call of Duty fans are excited about the potential long-term support for this game, and Activision might want to tap into that by having a more extensive showcase than usual.
Typically, Call of Duty multiplayer reveals involve a trailer and a stream of the most popular influencers going head to head to show off the new multiplayer. Since COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, we may see an in-person event, which is exciting. We may also see the premiere of Warzone 2.0 gameplay at the same time. In this case, Activision would be killing two birds with one stone.
Fortunately, we won’t have long to wait. The open beta and launch of the game will be here before you know it.
