After being stabbed by a raider, but escaping on horseback with Ellie, Joel’s wound was so critical that it forced him to pass out. As Ellie crouched over his body, with Joel lay in the cold snow, she begged him through tears to wake up, confident that she couldn’t complete her journey without him. Does Joel die in The Last of Us HBO Episode 6?
It is very unlikely that Joel will die after being stabbed in the sixth installment of The Last of Us. The HBO Max series still has three more episodes of this debut season to go, and with a second season now confirmed for the future, it’s highly improbable that writers would choose to bring one of their lead character’s journey to an end before it’s due.
Those who have played the critically-acclaimed video games from Naughty Dog on which the TV show is based will know that Joel has a pivotal role to play in events still to come, especially when it comes to the driving force behind the narrative in The Last of Us Part 2. If predictions are correct in this first season completing the story told in the original game, then the sequel will probably be adapted when Season 2 begins filming. So, don’t count Joel out.
In saying all of that, HBO series in the past that have been adapted from previous works, such as Game of Thrones, have been known to pull the rug out from under those who believed they knew what was coming up. If they did kill Joel here, it would certainly get everybody talking.
