Not only is the PS5 capable of producing higher-quality visuals at higher frame rates, but it can also make use of superior SSD speeds to render gameplay without the need for loading screens.
In the past, it was likely easier to produce games across multiple generations, but with the PS5 hardware directly impacting gameplay beyond simple resolution and quality, developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PS4 would probably have required the focus of too large a team for too little reward in sales.
