The Baldur’s Gate 3 Investigate Kagha quest can be confusing as far as figuring out how to advance. It’s clear upon meeting this leader in Emerald Grove that something seems off, as the game tells you to investigate her. But even after exhausting all of her dialogue options, the game doesn’t tell you what to do or where to go next to figure out what’s going on with Kagha. Here’s how to investigate her and find evidence on what she’s doing in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to advance Baldur’s Gate 3 Investigate Kagha quest
To advance the Investigate Kagha quest, you need to first find evidence in Kagha’s Chest located in a small path behind a bookcase in the nearby Servant’s Quarters. From there, you can follow the steps below to finish the quest:
- Unlock Kagha’s Chest – You can either lockpick the chest or attempt to pickpocket Kagha for the Kagha’s Key quest item
- Read the Half-Torn Note inside – This letter will indicate that Kagha is scheduled to meet some person named Olodan in the Swamp, which is quite a ways from Emerald Grove. The Shadow Druid Doctrine book will also be in the chest, which you can read for more context.
- Head to rendezvous location and fight enemies – The marker for the quest will move to a Twisted Tree in the swamp that is surrounded by some Wood Woad and a Mud Mephit.
- Find Letter to Kagha – Inside the tree stump (you may need to cast Fire on the grass), you can find a Wooden Crevice with this letter inside.
- Confront Kagha – Kagha will have a new dialogue option about what you have found. You can try to persuade Kagha down another path, fight and kill her (as well as her allies), or perhaps spare her instead. You can even have her join your party if you wish.
- Speak with Zevlor – Talk to Zevlor in the Secluded Chamber to complete the side quest.
If you spare Kagha, you’ll receive a two-handed staff called Paleaok. Then from Zevlor, you’ll get a pair of Hellrider’s Pride gloves.
That said, a few other decisions will also impact the outcome of the quest. If the tiefling child Arabella died, her parents will attempt to kill Kagha if she joins your party at camp. She’ll also be cast out of Emerald Grove if you’ve already saved the druid leader Halsin.
