When you explore the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll run into Arcane Turrets. These nasty constructs can revive themselves after you kill them and can attack multiple times per turn. It may seem like there’s no way to turn off the Arcane Turrets at first, but you can disable them.
How to turn off Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3
When you approach the Arcane Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll see the first two Arcane Turrets. You have to get past these to get to the machine that turns them off, so you can do one of three things:
- Knock out the turrets
- Make a run for it
- Sneak past the turrets
The easiest way to get past them is to go with number one. The turrets don’t have that many hitpoints and will eventually stop fighting. If you drain a turret’s HP twice, it’ll be temporarily offline, allowing you to explore at your leisure.
You have two more options when you approach the entrance to the Arcane Tower in BG 3. You can either head inside and knock out the last two turrets or take the path down the mushrooms to the tower’s basement. Since the machine you need to activate to turn off the Arcane Turrets is down there, I suggest doing this first to save some time.
Since you’ll be heading to the basement first, you won’t have the key to enter it. So, you can either turn to a gaseous form and use the pipe to the side of the tower to enter (which requires a perception check) or lockpick the door. Once inside, you’ll notice a large contraption in the center of the room.
To power the generator, you must head back outside and find the Sussur Bloom nearby. Then, bring it to the basement and insert it into the machine. Doing so will turn back on the power, which activates the lift and disables the Arcane Turrets.
