The Assassin’s Creed Mirage weapon upgrades are not as involved as they have been in past entries. This entry is not as much of an RPG, so it makes sense to have a more downsized upgrading mechanic. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in AC Mirage.
How to upgrade weapons in AC Mirage
To upgrade weapons in AC Mirage, you have to visit a blacksmith. The icon for a blacksmith is a pair of crossed swords, and there are many spread across Baghdad.
Once you make your way to any one of them and speak to them. They will have two menus to pick from. One lets you change the appearance of your weapons and the other lets you upgrade them.
Upgrading weapons costs leather and steel ingots. Both can be gotten in various ways, which include opening chests and completing certain side missions (although you will mostly be doing the former).
However, you will also need an upgrade schematic. These are locked away in various gear chests (the gold chest icons on the map) or, more rarely, given as rewards for completing the contracts. The game does not specify what upgrade schematics are in which chests, and most weapons have two schematics.
Most weapons get two upgrades, both of which make their stats even more potent. For example, the Zanj Uprising Dagger gets a damage and defensive damage buff. However, the perks for the weapons don’t get any stronger, so they will have the same effect at the beginning as they do at the end. The only exceptions to this are the two special weapons that players get for finding all of the Mysterious Shards and trading them in at the appropriate venue. Both of these special weapons are fully upgraded when you find them and are very powerful.
