MW3 Beta Free Can You Play Modern Warfare 3

Can You Play MW3 Beta for Free?

Access to the MW3 beta is confusing, so it’s no surprise that many players are asking whether it’s free or not. The second weekend of the Modern Warfare 3 beta starts on October 12, and it will be the first time that PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One players will be able to play the beta alongside PlayStation players who have already had a chance to try it out from October 6 to October 10. That’s why this second weekend is being called the crossplay MW3 beta. But the October 12 date mentioned earlier is only for people who have early access to this second phase of the beta. So here’s whether the MW3 beta is free for everyone to join.

Can you join the MW3 Beta for free?

Yes, the crossplay part of the MW3 beta will be free on all platforms starting on October 14 and ends on October 16.

More Call of Duty

Those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare III will get early access to this beta on October 12, giving them a head start to reach the max level cap. That said, PS5 and PS4 players already had a head start during the PlayStation-exclusive first weekend for the beta. So Xbox and PC players will mostly be playing catch-up for a good part of this second weekend. We’re not sure whether that’s going to give Activision and Sledgehammer Games great data at all, but the main intention of the crossplay beta is to test the multiplayer servers anyway.

Sledgehammer Games will be addressing feedback given during the first weekend of the beta that will be applied throughout the second weekend. In particular, enemy visibility will be improved, mainly by way of the addition of nameplates above players’ heads. They also removed the overhead spawn camera in Hardpoint and reduced the damage of the Striker SMG.

It’s unclear if the developers had time to make changes to poor spawn selection on various maps, but they have noted the issue and stated that they will be making adjustments by the time the game launches on November 10.
