Jude Wilson, an aspiring environmental artist at Sheffield Hallam University, has given the N64 classic GoldenEye 007 a modern facelift.
In the short video above, he shows off his remastering of one of the game's multiplayer maps called The Facility, enhancing it using Unreal Engine 4 and recreating every object from scratch. Sharing his work on NeoGAF, he explains why he chose this game in particular:
I'll never stop imagining how great this game could be if it ever made it to a current gen console… How great would it be to see it finally arrive on Nintendo's next console with the cooperation with all those involved? Yes, even Microsoft.
While this upgrade isn't official of course, it gives us a glimpse into what would be possible if GoldenEye007 was remastered using today's technology. Now, the chances of that happening might be slim given that we already have GoldenEye 007: Reloaded which was released in late 2011. But it might be worth another look a few years from now.
