The actors union SAG/AFTRA has gone on strike against a list of video game companies, and posted a list of video games against which they are and are not striking. A story broke from comicbookmovie.com that pointed out one of the items on the list is "Guardians of the Galaxy – The Video Game a/k/a Blue Harvest." The story was accompanied by this image:
However, if you go to SAG/AFTRA's website now and click the PDF of the list, you'll see this:
So what's going on here? Is the first image an errant fraud, concocted via Photoshop, taking advantage of the PDF's white background and Arial font? That was my first thought.
But, thanks to The Way Back Machine, we can see that the website was edited two days ago – the same day the comicbookmovie.com story broke. And, thanks to Google Cache, we can visit www.sagaftra.org/interactive and download the original PDF (link here). As you can see, the PDF from the cached website still shows "Guardians of the Galaxy – The Video Game a/k/a Blue Harvest."
So, short of an elaborate hack of SAG/AFTRA's website uploading a dummy PDF, Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy game is happening, and the editing of their PDF after news got around has led to proof positive. Looking forward to mashing Q while watching Star-Lord luck his way out of impossible situations.
