Mario has once again taken everyone to school — the um…How to Sell Games School. Despite Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs having a huge following and selling quite the assload in its first week, it, to the presumed dismay of Namco Bandai, launched in the same week as Mario Kart 7, so it ended up finishing second place to Nintendo's cartoonish racer. PS3 hardware sales took a jump, up to 40k from the usual 25k or so, but that too was squashed under a huge week for Nintendo, as the company put over 205 thousand new 3DS units into Japanese homes.
