The PlayStation Vita hasn't been the multi-million selling beast of a portable many expected it to be in Japan, but it still managed to sell an impressive 500K in just three weeks since launch.
Granted, over 60% of that figure occured during the first week at retail. Following weeks were much less, largely due to Monster Hunter being released on the 3DS. But even with such strong competition, the PlayStation Vita is still trucking right along.
Sony also revealed that the PlayStation 3 sold 3.9 million units during the holiday shopping season. The PSP also fared well during this time, moving 1.6 million units.
Amazingly, the PlayStation 2 is still selling fairly well. While no direct figures were given for the PS2, Sony did mention that these four pieces of hardware together exceeded 6.5 million units. Rough math gives you an estimate of around 200K units sold. Not bad at all for a console that's over 11 years old and had only a handful of games released for it during 2011.
