Half-Life Fans Stage Campaign for Communication on Half-Life 3

There's been a bit of teasing as of late regarding whether or not Valve is indeed working on Half-Life 3. No matter what anyone has seen or heard on the interwebs, the fact remains that Valve has not definitively said one way or another about anything about Half-Life 3.

But that doesn't seem to matter to Half-Life fans. A Steam group called A Call for Communication (Half-Life) has called for a huge Half-Life 2 game playing session on Steam this weekend. The goal of the gameplay campaign is to raise awareness that the campaign exists in the first place. First step? Boost Half-Life 2 to the top of Steam's most-played list.

By doing so, the fan group hopes it will spur Valve to relay any official information on when we can expect a continuation of the Half-Life story, whether it's Half-Life 2: Episode 3 or Half-Life 3.

All I can think to say is, really? Valve will disclose what is going on with the Half-Life series when they are good and ready, and not because a fan group demands communication. Valve kind of has a reputation for sitting on things for a long time and not uttering a word until it's up to their pretty high standard of quality.

Here's another newsflash for all of the gamers with a sense of entitlement: Valve owes us nothing.
