Capcom Has Another New IP Up Their Sleeve

Capcom has become a hot topic as of late. One of their most storied franchises, Resident Evil, had its 15th Anniversary recently, which spawned announcements of new (and old) releases. On top of that, the publisher recently held their annual Captivate event where a new IP was announced among other things. But this old dog has learned more than one new trick, and plans on announcing yet another new IP to be released in 2012.

Despite Capcom having Resident Evil and Street Fighter "form the basis of the portfolio", European COO David Reeves says another new IP is in the cards:

We've already announced Asura's Wrath and Dragon's Dogma, and there will be at least one more original title from us that will come out next year.

Capcom is building one of the most diverse line-ups offered by any publisher. Trying to breathe some new life into established series, they've put Resident Evil into the hands of Slant-Six, a Western developer, with Operation: Raccoon City. A similar thing has happened with Devil May Cry, as Capcom has Enslaved developer Ninja Theory rebooting the series as DmC with a drastically different Dante as the main-protagonist. New IPs Asura's Wrath, Dragon's Dogma, and this unannounced title are the icing on the cake.
