Divinity: Original Sin 2 Debuts and Kicks PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds From The Top Spot on Steam

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds may have been celebrating its reign at the top of the charts on Steam, but now it’s been dethroned by a role-playing game that’s leaving Steam Early Access. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has just released, and it immediately shot to the top of the Top Sellers list on Steam. It’s pretty shocking to see it there atop the entire list when PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has stayed there for quite some time. Now it’s time for a new game to sit on top of the Steam world and look down upon the rest.

The game’s debut has been very strong, and has opened to very positive reception. The follow-up to the original Divinity: Original Sin, it had a long way to launch from its original Kickstarter campaign and having reached its $500,000 goal in less than 12 hours. Larian Studios emerged in Early Access for PC on September 15, 2016, making it almost a year exactly before its official debut as a full-fledged game.

As far as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds goes, it’ll likely creep its way back up to the Top Sellers list on Steam eventually, given its massive popularity. It’s going to be making its way to Xbox One later this year, meaning its player base is going to start expanding in a massive way.
