QuakeCon will return to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, from August 9th to August 12th, 2018. The event was held at the same venue last year.
The biggest attraction of QuakeCon is the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) event. It is the largest gaming Local Area Network (LAN) party in the world. Attendees who wish to participate in the BYOC must register in advance to book their places before seats are completely sold out.
QuakeCon 2018 will be open to the public and free for general attendees who are not taking part in the BYOC. However, they still have the choice of registering online, which will provide an expedited registration process on-site during the actual event. Online registration also offers several additional packages, which are exclusively available only during the registration period. At the time of writing, online registration has not yet been opened. Attendees can make room reservations at the Gaylord Texan Resort, where the event will be held. Mentioning QuakeCon when making their reservations will give them a special room rate of $185 per night.
This year’s QuakeCon will offer exciting activities for everyone, including sneak peeks of Bethesda’s upcoming titles and announcements. They will also be able to attend a variety of panels, presentations, tournaments, workshops, and exhibits from leading tech companies, showcasing the latest gaming accessories and hardware.
No specific line-up of games has been announced or teased by Bethesda as of yet, although gamers have been clamoring for news of a new Elder Scrolls game for a long time. The last iteration of the franchise was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which was originally released way back in 2011. Remastered versions have since been released on the PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, as well as a port for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR in 2017.
Last year’s QuakeCon received around 9,000 attendees and this year’s gathering is projected to double in size. QuakeCon 2018 will be the 23rd such event to be held since it began in 1996.
