Mario Tennis Aces gave us a lot of information to chew on during today’s Nintendo Direct for March 8th, 2018. Arguably the highlight of the Direct, Mario Tennis Aces was given the most amount of time to shine during the middle of the presentation. First and foremost, we were given a brief look at the characters.
There will be a total of 15 characters at launch ranging from the titular Tennis player himself Mario to Peach to Bowser and more. Featuring the very first story mode since the Game Boy Advance game, Mario Tennis Acesis a full-featured title that you can sink many hours into.
During the presentation, Mario Tennis Aces focused mostly on how to play the game during matches. Many different trick shots, strategies, and ways to play were featured in the trailer that you can watch yourself below. In addition, there were a few extra announcements made that fans will be interested in.
Mario Tennis Aces will feature up to four players local cooperative play, meaning you can pop off your controllers and pass them to friends for instant fun without a need for internet. Of course, there will be a robust online multiplayer mode for players to enjoy.
Speaking of online, Mario Tennis Aces will have an online beta test ahead of its launch, similar to those that Splatoon 2 and Arms had. Perhaps the most important detail revealed during the Direct was the official release date for Mario Tennis Aces.
Though it was leaked ahead of the presentation, we now officially know Mario Tennis Aces will release on June 22nd, 2018. For more on the game as we lead up to its launch this summer, keep it locked right here.
