Spyro Reignited Trilogy Leaked, First Screenshots Revealed

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been leaked on Amazon Mexico, showing off the first screenshots taken from the upcoming remaster collection. Much like Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy seems to have nailed the art style of the original game, tidying up its visuals for a modern audience without losing its charm in the process.

The listing states that Spyro The Dragon, Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon will each appear in the collection, confirming the existence of one the worst kept secrets in the industry. While no official announcement has been made, Amazon Mexico also published screenshots taken from the new game, indicating that this is much more than just a placeholder and will become a reality sooner rather than later.

Originally referred to as Spyro Treasure Trilogy as a result of a Reddit hoax getting out of hand, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set for a September 21st, 2018 release date according to the listing. Both PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are listed, indicating that the game won’t share the same PS4 exclusivity window as Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy.

The listing, which was initially discovered by users on the ResetEra forums, will be great news for Spyro fans, who have been waiting for the purple dragon to make a true return since the last mainline entry in the series back in 2008. Since then, Spyro headed up the popular Skylanders series, a once hugely popular toys-to-life franchise that has been winding down production after previously receiving annual releases.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy‘s development was no doubt inspired by the success of Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, which proved that there’s a widespread market for the return of old-school platforming franchises.
