For those who feel PUBG on Xbox One is wearing a little thin (or just want a chance of scenery in which to grab those chicken dinners) – you’re in luck. Miramar, the desert map that PC gamers have had their hands on for the past few months, is finally getting an Xbox One release date.
As announced on a PAX East stream with Player Unknown, Deadmau5 and Major Nelson, Miramar will be making its way to PUBG on Xbox One in May. Beyond that, very little else is known about the exact time of release, nor if the map will ever make its way to mobile devices.

Covering an identical 8×8 grid to its predecessor map, Miramar takes inspiration from the dusty towns of Mexico. Far more rocky and mountainous than the first map, Erangel, the map comes packed with densely-built areas, as well as a villa and even a prison.
Boasting 7 major cities and 8 minor ones, Miramar will be a welcome change for many, but many PC players have complained about the newer map. Fans feel that games are far slower compared to its Erangel counterpart, and also come with terrain that makes getting around a chore. Throw in a few too many wide, open spaces and you’ll probably be craving the oasis that is Erangel in no time.
That’s not to say it’s going to be terrible. Miramar is certainly an exciting proposition that will not only keep the PUBG on Xbox One player base high as it nears its first 6 months, but also entice lapsed players back into the battle royale fold. Sure, Fortnite is still going great guns – but a new map on Xbox One may just tip the scales back in the favour of PUBG.
