List of Original Xbox Games Coming Soon In April

Xbox One Adds Knights of the Old Republic 2 and 18 More Xbox Backwards Compatibility Games

When the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog was first announced, only 13 Original Xbox games were available. These included the likes of Black, Psychonauts and the first Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, among others. Now Microsoft has officially revealed the next few batches of Original Xbox games arriving soon, and they’re major additions.

Here’s the list of Original Xbox games (via Xbox Wire) releasing on April 17th, 2018:

  • Blinx: The Time Sweeper
  • Breakdown
  • Conker: Live & Reloaded
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • Hunter: The Reckoning
  • Jade Empire
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • SSX 3

Here’s the list of Original Xbox games releasing on April 26th, 2018:

  • Destroy All Humans!
  • Full Spectrum Warrior
  • Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
  • MX Unleashed
  • Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
  • Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
  • Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
  • Star Wars Republic Commando

All of these Original Xbox games will take advantage of the power of the new consoles, with up to four times the pixel count on the Xbox One and Xbox One S, and up to sixteen times the pixel count on the vastly more powerful Xbox One X. Players can either play the games on discs they already own or purchase them digitally in the Microsoft Store.

One interesting feature of the Backwards Compatibility catalog is that players can choose whether they want to play the Original Xbox games with enhanced graphics or experience them like they were years ago, in their original form.

It would be great if Sony followed in Microsoft’s footsteps and introduced a backward compatibility support of their own. There are so many PS1 and PS2 games that players want to replay, but until the day that PS Classics finally receive the attention it deserves, Xbox wins in the backwards compatibility category.
