More Exodus From Zynga: Words With Friends Co-Creators

Brothers Paul and David Bettner, the creators of the With Friends games (namely Words with Friends and Chess with Friends), have left Zynga, the game dev conglomerate that has made a habit of either buying mobile app companies or copying their material. Neither has said where they are going, if anywhere specific.

The Bettners are just part of a steady stream of higher ups leaving Zynga, including Wilson Griegel, the chief revenue officer of OMGPop, Zynga's chief technical officer of infrastructure, Zynga chief creative officer, and Zynga chief operating officer. On top of it all, Zynga has been dealing with insider trading and copyright infringement litigation as well as a potential quarterly loss of between $90 and $150 million.

To say that Zynga is in trouble would be putting it mildly. Considering their habits when it's come to mobile and even Facebook games, is it really all that surprising that they're going south?
