New Bandai Namco Game

Jump Force E3 Gameplay Mashup Trailer Released

Jump Force, the new Shonen Jump crossover fighting game from Bandai Namco, has a new gameplay mashup trailer that showcases a few of the characters that will be featured in the game battling it out and showing off their array of special moves.

The gameplay mashup trailer features the likes of Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro from One Piece, Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto, as well as Goku and Frieza from Dragon Ball. They are currently the only confirmed playable characters in the game so far, with Yagami Light and Ryuk from Death Note appearing in previous trailers but aren’t confirmed to be playable. With the vast roster of potential characters from the array of Shonen Jump titles, we could see a very large selection of characters in Jump Force once its released as well as in future DLCs.

Jump Force brings together characters from some of the biggest franchises under Shonen Jump, the best-selling manga magazine in Japan that played host to some of the world’s most popular manga titles such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and more. It features 3D fighting game mechanics in a 3-vs-3 format although it hasn’t been confirmed if other game modes will be made available. The game is being developed by Spike Chunsoft and will feature Japanese voice-overs with subtitles in a number of languages. It hasn’t been confirmed if voice-overs in other languages will be made available.

Jump Force isn’t the first game that has featured a Shonen Jump crossover. Famicom Jump: History of Heroes for the Nintendo Entertainment System was released in 1989 and was the first to feature a crossover of Jump characters. There was also Famicom Jump II: The Strongest Seven in 1991, Jump Super Stars in 2005, and Jump Ultimate Stars in 2006. Most recently, J-Stars Victory VS for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita was released in 2014 in Japan and 2015 worldwide.

Jump Force is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2019. You can check out the new gameplay mashup trailer below:
