Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat Corps and Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: White Dog Squad for the Nintendo 3DS are finally making their way to the west on September 7, 2018, according to an announcement by Nintendo. The two games from the Yo-Kai Watch series were originally released in Japan back in 2015 and are now making their western debut.
Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat Corps and Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: White Dog Squad lets players team up with up to three other friends, either locally or online, to do battle against enemy Yo-kai and Big Bosses. Instead of the traditional turn-based battles of previous games, Yo-Kai Watch Blasters features real-time battles making it the first action RPG of the series. Players will take direct control of their Yo-kai and have access to different skills and equipment to use with them.
Over 400 new and returning Yo-kai are featured in the games with each version containing their own exclusive Yo-kai. Players will need to trade Yo-kai between the two versions if they want to collect all of them. Additionally, those with save data from the previously released Yo-Kai Watch 2 set of games will also be able to link it with their Yo-Kai Watch Blasters save data to unlock one of three special Yo-kai depending on the version of Yo-Kai Watch 2 they have data for.
When forming a team of four, players will be able to take on different roles such as a melee fighter, a ranger attacker, a healer, or a tank. Teams will also have access to powerful Soultimate Moves to help them do battle with Big Bosses. Players will be able to train their Yo-Kai and craft equipment by collecting Oni Orbs from completed missions. Just like the Yo-kai, some missions and bosses are exclusive to the two different versions of the game.
