Skyrim Still Has Millions of Players Each Month

Skyrim has possibly been the butt of every gamer’s joke at least once. We’ve not met anyone, not one single person, that hasn’t heard the typical ‘port Skyrim on your refrigerator’ joke and vice versa. In fact, back during the very start of June was the reveal of a so impossible its funny product: Skyrim for your best AI pal, Alexa. And yes, it’s even compatible with smart toilets. Think of it as something to play while you’re sitting on the toilet after that Sonic curry.

As you’d expect, Skyrim just seems to be that game that brings out the best in people when it comes to their gaming experience no matter whether you love or hate it. What’s more, it felt as though when Skyrim it changed how RPG worlds were perceived, though it’s up to your individual opinion if you believe it was a good change or not.

Nevertheless, it may not surprise you to find out that Bethesda’s fantasy RPG is still doing well among players even in 2018. In fact, it’s the reason why Skyrim seems to be released on every single platform imaginable. Talking to an audience at Gamelab (via VentureBeat), Bethesda’s head, Todd Howard, had this to say.

“Even now, the number of people who play Skyrim seven years later — millions of people every month are playing that game.” He said. “That’s why we keep releasing it. If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it.”

So, according to Howard’s logic, the more we buy the game then the more ports the game will get. If that’s the case then perhaps we should be looking forward to seeing the game on a new generation of consoles. Or at least a light switch, or something if we’re really lucky.

In all seriousness, we’re not too surprised to see Skyrim still doing so well after several years. Their modding community has always been a huge part of what makes the game special, and the fact that the game is so accessible most definitely adds to the replayability for some fans.
