You read correctly, arguably one of the cutest pokemon is getting its very own festival. The world isn’t the greatest right now, but a Slowpoke festival in Japan will surely be enough to at least get a smile out of anyone reading. Slowpoke, after all, is a rather charming, pink Pokemon who may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but is loving enough that we find ourselves not really caring too much about that.
Yadon Ondo, Slowpoke’s Japanese name, is a music video that has recently been released from the Japanese Pokemon YouTube account and trust us when we say it’s nothing short of delightful. A small group of children surrounds two Slowpoke mascots and sing a happy, joyful song that will cause you to somehow get cavities in under a minute. Don’t hesitate to take a look at the music video for yourself below.
According to Polygon, Yadon’s Day will be starting on August 10th and will run til August 12th. The festival is to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Great Seto Bridge, however, a collaboration has led to Slowpoke’s involvement too and thus there will be a local Pokemon Center branch joining in on the fun alongside other Slowpoke merchandise.
What’s more, festival-goers will not only get to see ‘Yadon Ondo’ performed live but also have the chance to make their way to the ‘Slowpoke Meeting Center’. At the center, there will be full-sized Slowpoke mascots who will be there to meet and greet in a “relaxed pace”, which will no doubt lead to some fantastic pictures with everyone’s favorite lethargic pokemon’s. You’ll also be able to grab some Slowpoke goodies, including candy, clothing and a lot more.
