Splatoon 2 Splatoween

Splatoon 2 Splatoween Event on the Way

Nintendo has announced a Splatoon 2 Splatoween in-game event is on the way. This will be the first time Splatoon 2 has received an in-game event. Splatoween begins on October 19, 2018, 4PM CEST, and ends 48 hours later, on October 21 at the same time. Get ready to be spooked in quite possibly the freshest way possible.

Nintendo announced Splatoween on Twitter, spilling the details after an initial datamine discovered the upcoming event. You can see the tweet below, with some off the hook screenshots and information to go with it:

The Splatoon 2 Splatoween event is centered around a new Splatfest. You’ll be fighting on the side of “Trick”, or “Treat.” Splatfests usually fill the town square of Inkopolis in a party-like atmosphere, but Splatoween is different. Everything will be given a spooky facelift. Inkopolis will be decked out in plenty of orange and yellow spooky bunting, with the little octopuses all donning bedsheets on their squishy heads.

What’s more, there will be plenty of new gear to win during the event. Hockey masks, devil horns, zombie fish masks, and spooky t-shirts will all be available. To unlock the exclusive gear, you’ll need to head over to the Switch News tab. Once there, you’ll have to subscribe to the Splatoon 2 News Channel. Doing this will also keep you up-to-date with the various goings-on in the world of Splatoon 2.

Even the stages will be going under the Splatoween knife. Never before has Nintendo actively changed the way stages look for a Splatfest. This is a real dedication to the spooky front from the Big N. Remember, however, that you’ll now need to pay for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to take part in the Splatoon 2 Splatoween event. Information regarding the Switch Online Service can be found here.
