Sony Pictures Consumer Products, Ghost Corps and publisher FourThirtyThree Inc have announced that Ghostbusters World pre-registration is now open for all Android and iOS users. The announcement arrives alongside a new recruitment trailer, starring Greg Miller of Kinda Funny fame.
Gamers who wish to pre-register can do so by heading to this link for iOS users, and this link for Android users. Although the game will be a free-to-play AR map-based mobile game in the vein of Pokemon Go and Jurassic World Alive, it will also feature turn-based combat gameplay with RPG elements in its multiplayer PvP mode. Players will be able to catch hundreds of ghosts from every corner of the Ghostbusters franchise, as well as brand new ghosts that will be introduced for the first time in the game.
They can also team up with up to four friends to battle bosses in Ghostbusters World, including the likes of the antagonist from Ghostbusters 2 and even the iconic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The core gameplay of catching ghosts in the game will be to search for ghosts using the P.K.E. meter from the movies and deplete their health bars by using multiple proton-based weapons, which even includes a proton shotgun.
Ghostbusters World will feature an original story and exclusive art by the same creative team behind the IDW Ghostbusters comic book series. In the new story crafted for the game, players will encounter iconic characters like Venkman, Spengler, Stantz, Zeddemore and more in their mission to hunt down all the ghosts.
FourThirtyThree Inc is best known for developing other mobile games like DC Unchained and Lost Kingdom. At the time of writing, no specific release date has been announced. However, Ghostbusters World is slated to officially launch sometime in late 2018. In the meantime, check out the new Ghostbusters World recruitment trailer starring Greg Miller below.
