A new Diablo game demo booth has potentially been spotted on a map for Blizzcon 2018. With a Diablo announcement set to take place during the event, and a Diablo 3 booth already set up, this seems to be an area for a new Diablo experience.
The Blizzcon 2018 map was shared by Corsair, with it intended to highlight the Corsair booth at the event. However, in the hall next to this booth is a designated spot for Diablo Demos:
While this could be a spot for a demo of Diablo 3 on the Nintendo Switch, the Diablo 3 demo area was previously outlined in the official Blizzcon 2018 map released a few weeks ago. This is marked as Demo Area in the Corsair map, but is down as Diablo 3 Demos in the official map:
This suggests that the Diablo Demos booth is going to contain something other than the Nintendo Switch port. But what could it be? While many were hoping for Diablo 4, Blizzard has attempted to lower expectations in a blog post addressing the Diablo announcements that will be made during the event.
“We know what many of you are hoping for and we can only say that “good things come to those who wait,” but evil things often take longer,” Blizzard said. “We appreciate your patience as our teams work tirelessly to create nightmarish experiences worthy of the Lord of Terror.
“While we won’t be ready to announce all of our projects, we do intend to share some Diablo-related news with you at the show.”
While this could well rule out Diablo 4, users on ResetEra have suggested that it could be a Diablo 2 remaster. With the Blizzcon opening ceremony set to take place later today, and a Diablo announcement immediately following it, we won’t have to wait long to see what’s in store for Diablo‘s future.
