Sekiro PS4 copies appear to have been made available early ahead of the game’s release. A Reddit user in Germany has created a thread showing that they already have their PlayStation 4 copy of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. The user gave evidence of their early purchase by providing images on the game running on their television, as well as a close-up of the copy.

The Reddit thread, created by user “deathcabforacutie17,” shows off an early PS4 copy of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, which isn’t scheduled for release until this Friday, March 22. Several users questioned the validity of the claims. Deathcabforacutie17 responded to each of the unconvinced commenters, providing two different images. One of the boxed PS4 copy and an image of the game running on his TV. The user stated they live in Delmenhorst, Germany and that they purchased their Sekiro PS4 copy from an electronics store named Media Markt.
Sekiro PS4 copies appearing ahead of the game’s release provide an ironic situation for video games media outlets. Earlier this month, it was reported that the games media would not be receiving copies of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice ahead of release. Outlets were able to acquire information about the game from a recent preview event. The preview event revealed Sekiro PS4 copies would be playable at 1080p 60 FPS on the Pro version of the console. Prior to the event, the launch trailer showed how the game’s more substantial capabilities on the PC version. We were provided with a fast-paced look at the game running at 4K 60 FPS.
