Paradox Interactive’s latest info drop shares details on the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Toreador clan. The game’s newest trailer dives into the background of this Seattle-based clan of vampires with a taste for the arts.
In the world of Vampire: The Masquerade, Seattle’s identity as a city of the arts draws from the Toreador clan. Two of the city’s former princes were from the clan, and beyond that, they’ve been part of the city’s power structure from even before it was a city.
The clan is obsessed with artistry and true beauty. The fleeting nature of the latter can be a curse, as clan members spend their immortal lives in perpetual ennui, waiting for those few brief moments of passion.
Despite this, the Toreador are more than just party animals and hedonists. Those who choose to join them gain access to two unique Disciples, as well as powers stemming from their Thinblood past. The discipline of “Presence” turns any crowd into an audience. Those who master this can turn hate into adoration. The Awe ability allows them to strike a pose and stun the crowd, making them oblivious to anything they’ve seen. Meanwhile, the Entrance ability will actually gather a small crowd of admirers around users. That should be very useful for distracting any nearby enemies.
The disciple of “Celerity” on the other hand takes advantage of the Toreadors natural grace and elegance to move much more quickly than normal. The Unseen Storm skill has a user dash in any direction at a speed that stuns their audience. This can be used to attack opponents, dodge around them, and even get away in a dust cloud. Accelerate on the other hand allows the user to move so fast that everything else around them seems like its standing still. The user can then dodge and dance around opponents and obstacles alike.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in sometime in the first quarter of 2020.
