Deep Silver announced the Metro Exodus Two Colonels release date today. The Metro Exodus DLC release date was revealed during the Inside Xbox Gamescom 2019 showcase.
The Metro Exodus Two Colonels release date announcement came with a new trailer for the DLC. In the trailer, we get a look at some of the new locations from the expansion, including icy, dingy, and organic matter-covered subterranean areas. The trailer also showed off the new flamethrower weapon, which appears to be a big focus of Two Colonels’ gameplay.

The Metro Exodus Two Colonels story follows a new character named Colonel Khlebnikov as he returns home to his son on New Year’s Eve. Taking place mostly in the Novosibirsk Metro system, the DLC will provide new details on the fall of Novosibirsk, a destroyed city that served as the main setting for Metro Exodus’ Dead City chapter.
Metro Exodus Two Colonels will be released tomorrow, August 20. Deep Silver did not give a specific release time for the DLC. The company also did not mention any specific platforms, but the DLC will likely launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC as part of the Metro Exodus expansion pass. The Nvidia GeForce Twitter account announced before the Metro Exodus Two Colonels reveal that it would be streaming exclusive first hands-on details about the DLC at some point during Gamescom 2019, so this will likely occur later today.

Metro Exodus’ timed Epic exclusivity meant the game has been quite controversial among the PC gaming community, but that apparently hasn’t stopped it from selling well. THQ Nordic announced that Metro Exodus sales made it the “largest game launch” in the company’s history, and we recently learned that the Metro book series author will be involved in a Metro Exodus sequel. Metro Exodus is coming Steam in 2020, and a Metro Exodus Windows release recently came to the Microsoft Store.
