A Plague Tale: Innocence free trial

A Plague Tale: Innocence free trial has the entire first chapter

You can now play the A Plague Tale: Innocence free trial on Steam (and other platforms, too). Like many other story-based games in the past, Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive are giving players the chance to try out this harrowing adventure game. This won’t be a three-minute demo, though—it’s going to include the entire first chapter, gratis.

If you’re unfamiliar with this game, A Plague Tale: Innocence tells the tale of the de Rune siblings. Amicia and Hugo de Rune are being chased down by the Inquisition in the mid 1300s, right at a time when the Black Plague is devastating France. Neither of you are likely to win a stand-up fight against an armored soldier, and that’s why you have to use a mix of stealth and guile to evade or take down your enemies. There is also a fair few puzzles and stealth sections for you to enjoy, and some of them can get downright scary.

An announcement on the game’s Steam Community page notes that the A Plague Tale: Innocence free trial is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with pretty much no strings attached other than the restriction to the game’s first chapter. Players will be able to enjoy the de Rune legacy in its entirety. For context, the game consists of 17 chapters in total.

This free trial isn’t the only good news for people who have been waiting to check out this game. If you try it and like it, you can also snap it up at a discount. Currently, Steam is cutting the price by 33%, lowering it from $44.99 to $30.14 or your regional equivalent. The Steam news post says that this discount is going to go away on September 16, 2019; if you don’t grab it now, you’ll probably have to wait until Christmas to get an equal (or perhaps even better) deal on the game’s price. In the meantime, you can check out a new trailer that highlights the cool stuff you can see in the A Plague Tale: Innocence free trial.
