Outriders is the second officially announced PS5 game

Outriders was teased before E3 2019 and then revealed at Square Enix’s E3 press conference but went into a hiatus immediately after. Today, Square Enix has shown more of People Can Fly’s cooperative game off in a new trailer and confirmed that it will be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X — as well as the PS4, Xbox One, and PC — this holiday season. This makes it the second announced PS5 game and one of the small handful of titles confirmed for the Xbox Series X.

Square did not have much else to say concerning the platforms so we still don’t know if the versions will be staggered, if there will be some sort of cross-play, or if you’ll be given some sort way to upgrade from this generation to the next. Some of those details might even be unconfirmed from the first parties themselves. There were also no tidbits on the upcoming hardware either.

Godfall was the first officially confirmed PS5 game and Hellblade 2 and Halo Infinite have been the only confirmed Xbox Series X games so far, with the latter being a launch title for the Xbox Series X. We’re likely within striking range of the big blowouts for each console so we can expect more of these next gen reveals in the coming months. At least, we hope. There are only so many next gen rumors that need to exist without proper confirmation (or debunking).

You can also expect to hear more about Outriders on February 13, as that’s when I’ll be able to share my thoughts on the few hours I recently got to play.
